\"\"On Wednesday, October 25, at 3 p.m.<\/strong>, the City of Dana honored local tandem surfing champions Steve and Barrie Boehne with the unveiling of a commemorative statue at Waterman\u2019s Plaza.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong>Steve and Barrie won multiple ASP World Tandem Championships and were featured on ABC Wide World of Sports<\/em> and LIFE<\/em> Magazine. \u00a0They married in 1971 and together opened their new board shaping shop, Infinity Surf Shop<\/em>, in an old gas station on 5th and PCH in Huntington Beach.\u00a0 They moved the shop to Dana Point to raise their children, Dave and Dan.<\/p>\n

The statue of the duo is crafted by artist Bill Limebrook, who has been involved in the design of each of the bronze statues at Waterman\u2019s Plaza.<\/p>\n
