El Caminante Bar & Bungalows had a ribbon cutting on July 26, 2024 with the city of Dana Point, Chamber of Commerce, Dana Point Historical, and civic leaders. Barbara Johannes, President of DPHS, provided welcoming historical remarks.
The El Caminante Bar & Bungalows in Capistrano Beach is a fully renovated 80-year-old California motor court. Yesterday was the ribbon-cutting for this historic property. It offers 30 ocean-view bungalows and a Mediterranean-inspired café, The Bar, artisanal pizzas from a vintage Airstream. Originally known as the Swallows Inn and later the Capistrano Seaside Inn, the Spanish-style retreat features vintage lighting, hand-painted tiles, bespoke furnishings, eclectic artwork, record players, and oceanfront fire pits. Additional amenities include in-room spa services, electric bike rentals, and yoga classes.
