Dana Point Tennis Center, 24911 Calle De Tenis, Dana Point, CA 92629-3120 –- 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 27, 2011. Dick Metz, founder of the Surfing Heritage Foundation, will present a colorful slideshow on the history of surfing.

Program Notes:
“LOCAL LEGENDS OF SURFING” – Dick Metz
He will begin with a talk emphasizing Dana Cove’s role in the Killer Dana era, and Dana Point’s impact on surfing in general.
Both a legendary and a visionary surfer, Dick grew up here with such notables as Hobie Alter. Metz has donated his extensive surfboard collection — now on dramatic display at the foundation’s San Clemente museum.
Public invited to this meeting free. Onsite snacks promised.
