Dana Point High School Scholarships Awarded 2011

The Dana Point Historical Society awarded two $1,000 scholarships to two students at Dana Hills High School. Alexandria Anderson, with plans to study electrical engineering at Columbia University, has been active in community service. She spends most of her time in tutoring students with academic needs. She has spent her summers at Columbia and Harvard Universities in engineering and math classes. She scored 790, out of 800, on her SAT history test. The second award went to Ellen Lomonico. 2010 High School Scholarships Awarded

Annually, the Dana Point Historical Society presents two $1,000 scholarships to Dana Point residents who attend San Clemente and Dana Hills High Schools. The Scholarship Committee consists of Beverli Jinn, David Kristjansen, Chuck Johannsen, and Carlos N. Olvera. The Committee selects the winners by interviewing them and by reviewing resumés submitted by students from each high school asking for their need, interests in history, and community service.
